Fire crews continue to battle wildfires in Custer County after working through the night to contain the flames.

According to Broken Bow Fire Department Public Information Officer Mason Holmes, the Lillian Fire and the E Table Road Fire were under control as of 8:40 a.m. Wednesday. However, active fires remain in the canyons, and suppression efforts are ongoing.

The Sutton Volunteer Fire Department shared images of the Lillian Fire from Tuesday night, showing crews hard at work. Multiple fire departments and volunteers are assisting in the response.

Weather Conditions and Safety Measures

Strong winds are expected to continue throughout the day, contributing to smoke in the area. Residents should remain cautious and avoid fire-affected zones.

On Tuesday, fire officials canceled all burn permits until further notice due to the ongoing fire risks.
