A former Nebraska football player was arrested in Stanton County on Friday.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office made contact with 23-year-old Zavier Betts, of La Vista, after his vehicle was found with a flat tire on Highway 15, northeast of Pilger.

Authorities discovered that Betts was driving with a suspended license and had an active probation warrant out of Woodbury County, Iowa, with no bond.

Betts was arrested and taken to jail, where he awaits an extradition hearing back to Iowa.

Betts previously played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers before leaving the team in August 2023.
