A 32-year-old man, Caleb Phillips, has been arrested and charged with domestic assault after police connected him to an attack on a woman in Lincoln last month.

Incident Details

  • On Feb. 22, a woman initially reported that a man in black approached her near 28th and J Streets with a pocket knife, demanded money, and tried to stab her.
  • She later defended herself but suffered a one-inch laceration on her hand. The man also hit her multiple times, causing injuries to her face, mouth, and forehead.
  • A witness later provided information that led police to Phillips.

  • Phillips was arrested on Feb. 24 after causing a disturbance while looking for the woman.

Charges and Court Appearance

    • Second-degree domestic assault
    • Use of a weapon to commit a felony
