Millard West girls basketball secured its second consecutive Class A State Championship with a dominant 70-44 victory over Omaha Westside.
The Wildcats set the tone early, going on a 25-2 run spanning the first and second quarters to build a commanding 30-7 lead with just over three minutes left in the first half. Westside struggled to recover, only cutting the deficit to 18 points in the final two quarters.
Junior guard Kylee Paben led Millard West with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Senior guard Neleigh Gessert added 18 points, hitting four of nine from three-point range, and grabbed eight rebounds. Jade Lewis also contributed 15 points and seven rebounds.
For Omaha Westside, freshman guard Himayajo Metoyer led the team with 18 points, while senior Kimora Jenkins added eight points.
Millard West finished the season with an impressive 28-1 record, cementing their place as back-to-back state champions.
