An Omaha man accused of recording individuals in a public restroom was sentenced Monday after changing his plea.
Kristopher Walker, 23, pleaded “no contest” to intruding on a person without consent, a misdemeanor charge.
Originally, Walker faced a felony charge of visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct, but it was reduced. A separate charge of intent to take video without consent was dropped.
Walker was sentenced to 18 months of probation and must register as a sex offender.
According to an arrest affidavit, a 16-year-old flagged down Omaha Police at Gene Leahy Mall around 8:20 p.m. on a Sunday, reporting that a man had filmed him in a public restroom.
Court records indicate the teen was using a urinal when he saw a phone appear from the adjacent stall.
Officers located Walker nearby. He initially denied filming but allowed police to check his phone. Authorities say they found 14 video clips of different males using the restroom, including footage of the teen’s face.
The reporting officer noted that all videos appeared to be from the same location and were recorded without the individuals’ knowledge.
