Emergency crews in Omaha responded Sunday afternoon after reports that a vehicle had entered the Missouri River near NP Dodge Park.
According to Omaha Police, they received a call just after 3 p.m. about a white vehicle that had driven down the boat ramp and into the river. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle float downstream briefly before sinking.
The Omaha Fire Department and Eppley Fire deployed boats equipped with sonar to locate the submerged vehicle. If found, the OFD dive team may be called in to assist with retrieval.
Officials have not confirmed whether anyone was inside the vehicle at the time.
Due to fading daylight, the search was suspended Sunday evening and is set to resume Monday morning when conditions allow.
