A protest took place Saturday at the intersection of 72nd and Dodge, with demonstrators lining all four corners.
Protesters told Nebraska News they were rallying against the Trump administration.
The demonstration is part of an online movement called “50501,” which stands for 50 protests in 50 states under what organizers describe as “one movement.”
Organizers originally planned the protest for March 4th to align with similar events nationwide, but last week’s blizzard forced them to reschedule.
“I’m here for women’s rights, to protect reproductive rights, and to fight for our democracy since it’s been hijacked by Elon Musk and Donald Trump,” said protester Kirsten Engelken.
According to the Associated Press, similar protests have taken place in Philadelphia and at state capitols in California, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin, and other locations.
