A house fire in South Lincoln caused an estimated $75,000 in damage Friday evening, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.
Fire crews responded to the scene near 40th Street and Old Cheney Road after receiving a call at 6:02 p.m. Battalion Chief Drew Endicott said firefighters contained the fire within two minutes of arrival but remained on scene until after 8 p.m.
Investigators believe the fire started on the backside of the house before spreading inside, but the exact cause has not yet been determined.
The fire resulted in approximately $50,000 in structural damage and $25,000 in losses to the home’s contents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Nebraska News will provide updates as more details become available.
