Two people were hospitalized after a carjacking led to a crash late Tuesday night in Omaha, according to Omaha Police.

Officers responded just after 10 p.m. to a crashed Honda Civic near 30th and McKinley, in the Florence area.

Police say the incident began around 5 a.m. Tuesday when two men pepper-sprayed a Lyft driver near 38th and Hamilton and stole his car.

Later that night, officers located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in a crash.

Two people in the car were transported to the hospital in critical condition, according to OPD.
